Safety preferences are personal checks for actions your agents try through Passport. They can make your access stricter, but never broader. Open Settings and find Safety. For both write actions and destructive actions, choose:
  • Allow — go ahead, if your workspace already permits it.
  • Ask me — pause so you can allow it once, allow it for one hour, or deny it. Open Approvals to decide; its badge shows waiting personal action approvals.
  • Never — block it immediately.
The defaults are: Read-only actions are not controlled here.

How Safety combines with workspace rules

  • If your app access is read-only, write tools stay hidden even if Safety says Allow.
  • If a workspace guardrail blocks an action, Safety cannot override it.
  • Autonomous automation credentials do not raise personal Ask me prompts. Company access may require action approvals; see Company access.
Use Safety when you want an extra personal check without changing anyone else’s access. An approval stays available for about three minutes. If you choose Allow for one hour, matching actions can run without another prompt for one hour; after that, Passport asks again. See also Guardrails and Catalog access and passes.
